Fun note: Alice Liddell was Lewis Carroll's "ideal child-friend" and is the purported inspiration for his novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (1865). This painting is based on a photo Carroll took of Liddell entitled, "The Beggar Maid" (1858).
